A mean message
Tom and Mia are best friends. They love to use the computer after school.
One day, Tom sees a message on his smartphone. Someone wrote something very mean and stupid about his friend Mia.
Tom is sad because it is not nice to say stupid things about other people.
Tom does not post anything mean. He sends Mia a kind message instead. He writes: "You are great, Mia! Don't be sad."
Mia smiles because Tom is a good friend.
Their teacher, Ms. Green, talks to the class the next day:
"Everything you post online stays there forever. It is part of your digital footprint. Sending mean messages is called cyberbullying – and that is never okay! The internet connects us all, so let's be kind!"
