Fill in the correct form of the verbs. Use future perfect. 
Be careful, the passive voice might sometimes be needed.

    I don’t want to miss my favourite TV show.

Translate the following sentences into German. If you are not sure what they mean, listen to Mariella’s voicemail. Sometimes the context makes it easier to translate.

  1. It was very interesting for us to hear about your lives. 
  2. Especially as far as school-life is concerned. 
  3. Strangely, outside school teenagers seem to be the same all over the world. 
  4. If you want to take your “Abitur” – which is comparable to A-Levels in the UK or high school graduation in America, since it allows you to go to university – you have to go to a “Gymnasium”. 
  5. At those schools the pupils are divided into different groups for most subjects, depending on their abilities. 
  6. We have a different timetable for each day of the week, but it is repeated week by week throughout of the school year. 
  7. Since we don’t have a cafeteria, every pupil has to bring his or her own lunch to school. 
  8. Oh, and just in case you are jealous that in Germany school finishes so early – we also start early! 
  9. If you are not interested in any of these workshops you can go home after your last lesson.

  3. Seltsamerweise scheinen Teenager/junge Menschen außerhalb der Schule überall auf der Welt gleich zu sein.
  4. Wenn man sein Abitur machen möchte – welches vergleichbar mit den A-Levels in Großbritannien oder dem High-School-Abschluss in Amerika ist, da es einen dazu befähigt, zur Universität zu gehen –, muss man aufs Gymnasium gehen.
  5. An diesen Schulen werden die Schüler in den meisten Fächern in verschiedene Gruppen (ein)geteilt, je nach ihren Fähigkeiten.
  6. Wir haben einen unterschiedlichen Stundenplan für jeden Tag der Woche, aber dieser wiederholt sich jede Woche, das ganze Schuljahr lang.
  7. Da wir keine Mensa haben, muss jeder Schüler/jede Schülerin das eigene Mittagessen mitbringen.
  8. Oh, und falls ihr jetzt neidisch seid, dass die Schule in Deutschland so früh aufhört/zu Ende ist: Wir fangen auch früh an!
  9. Wenn man an keiner dieser AGs Interesse hat, kann man nach seinem Unterricht/seiner letzten Schulstunde nach Hause gehen.
