Definition

Adverbial clauses of result (Adverbialsätze der Folge) werden mit den subordinierenden (unterordnenden) Konjunktionen that, so ... that, so that und such that gebildet. 
Mit ihnen wird ausgedrückt, was als Resultat des im Hauptsatz Genannten passiert oder passieren könnte. Das that wird oft weggelassen.

Beispiele

  • Please speak clearly so that we can all understand you.
  • He had such a peculiar accent that nobody was able to follow.
  • He was so weak that he could barely stand on his feet → He was so weak he could barely stand on his feet.
