Bei den adverbial clauses of comparison (Adverbialsätze des Vergleichs) unterscheidet man zwischen zwei Typen:

  1. adverbial clause of comparison of degree
  2. adverbial clause of comparison of manner

Adverbial clauses of comparison of cegree werden mit der subordinierenden (unterordnenden) Konjunktion than oder mit dem Relativadverb as eingeleitet.

Beispiele:

  • He is younger than his brother.
  • I exercise much harder than he does.
  • She is as chaotic as she is lazy.

Adverbial clause of comparison of manner

Adverbial clauses of comparison of manner werden mit dem Relativadverb as eingeführt.

Beispiele:

  • They may do as they please.
  • He reacted as I expected.
  • As you have caused that mess so you must clean it up.
